Special Reports

Special Reports are in-depth, research-led examinations of the frameworks, behaviours, and systems that shape the arts today. They move beyond individual productions to address the wider conditions in which art is made, experienced, and debated — from audience conduct and cultural literacy to access, economics, and institutional practice. Our current Special Report takes the form of a practical guide: A Guide to Theatre Etiquette in the 21st Century. Future Special Reports will investigate broader shifts in how the arts are consumed and understood, grounded in careful research, historical context, and a belief that informed participation deepens artistic experience. Special Reports are intended to be returned to and relied upon — offering both context and clear guidance, and equipping readers to engage with the arts thoughtfully, confidently, and well.
