Upon seeing Shockheaded Peter in 2002 at what was then the Albery Theatre, co-directed by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch (with Crouch also designing the production), I immediately recognised that I was witnessing something unique and inspired. It made me an instant admirer of both Crouch’s and McDermott’s work.
