Gypsy is the greatest musical ever written — and I would argue, one of the greatest works created for the stage.
The current revival, starring an astonishing Audra McDonald in the role of ‘Mama’ Rose, not only reaffirms this opinion, but elevates it. This production marks the fourth I have seen — and, as I said after the 2008 revival, it will be my last.
